Community Grants

Third round of submissions due 23:59 on Sunday 12th March 2023

The Chilmington Management Organisation is holding another round of funding to be reviewed by the community grants panel made up of local residents and Board Directors. This successful initiative has supported several projects involving local people coming together.

Once again, the CMO is working with Ashford Borough Council to support a wider spectrum of residents within the South of Ashford Garden Community.  We thank Ashford Borough Council for their support in enabling this to happen. With funding amounts up to £2000 for a single project, individuals or groups are welcome to apply.

The aims of this fund are to fund community projects that benefit the community within the CMO area of benefit and wider South of Ashford Garden Community area.  Applications should be in line with existing CMO community development priorities, for example:

  • Access and Connectivity
  • Open Spaces
  • Family/children
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Culture/Education
  • Environment/climate change.
  • Promote equality and diversity.

Individuals and fledgling groups can apply for up to £1,000 on a single application. Constituted Organisations can apply for up to £2000 on a single application. Applications will be assessed according to those which are below either category. Please see Grant Guidance document available to download on this page.

The above link takes you to a Google Form. Google forms are submitted electronically, using your email to send you a copy of your submission. This is a basic platform which does not allow for attachments so please prepare any supporting documents separately and email these to hello@cmo.org.uk with the subject line “community grants”. Supporting documents can include:

  • Simple budget or expense spreadsheet
  • Letter of support from a community member
  • Visuals such as photos or illustrations.

Before completing the application form, please read the Grant Guidance and the Early Community Development Strategy below. There are also maps to show priority areas for projects, these are referenced in the Guidance.
