The Chilmington Management Organisation’s Board of Director Trustees are looking to recruit the first Resident Director. This is an opportunity open to Chilmington Green residents (who are also CMO Members). No previous Board experience is required, but those with skill sets in either law, communications/marketing or financial management are encouraged to express an interest.
The resident director will be one of eight directors, working together to safeguard the future of the CMO and ensure it is meeting all its legal and charitable obligations and commitments. Each director has an individual, personal liability to ensure that decisions made are in the best interest of the charity and to ensure the CMO operates effectively (please see the Charities Commission website for general information about being a director trustee of a charity).
The Board currently meets quarterly with additional meetings in between for working groups as required. Each board meeting is roughly 2.5 hours long with papers circulated broadly five working days ahead of the meeting. Meetings are currently held virtually (by Teams) but are expected to move to a mix of face to face and virtual in the coming months.
